ÅLAND
Come and spend some days on the Åland Islands with the most hours of sunshine in the Nordic region. Go sea-fishing, take a bike ride and visit a farm café, see our cultural history. Watch the sun go down over the sea, visit Bomarsund fortress ruins, hold the steering wheel on the sailing ship Pommern and do many more things on this enchanting island.
This is a map of Åland and its archipelago, consisting of many thousands of small islands. It is situated in the Baltic Sea between Sweden in the west and Finland in the east.
It takes two to seven hours (depending on the route you choose) by boat from either Stockholm or Kapellskär www.sales.vikingline.com/en/book-cruise/ www.tallink.com or from Grisslehamn www.eckerolinjen.se/en/ and the fare is generally very cheap.
The longer routes from Stockholm pass through the Stockholm archipelago, with wonderful views of the islands.
